State Street Alpha is looking to bring on an Alpha Platform Solutions Lead Product Architect to guide the design, execution and delivery of solutions to extend the core standard components packaged with the Alpha Platform. The Product Architect will lead a team of Business Analysts, Technical Analysts and System Analysts to support requirements gathering and definition, solution design and documentation to ensure timely delivery of well thought out integrated solutions. The Product Architect will collaborate across the Alpha organization to ensure solutions are easily implemented, operated and maintained across the diverse range of Alpha clients.

Why this role is important to us
This is a key leadership role on the Alpha Platform Solutions team responsible for leading a dynamic team of business and technical analysts and guiding the technological direction and decisions to ensure robust repeatable integration solutions that support rapid deployment, ease of support and maintenance and rapid upgrades. This role requires a broad understanding of the many systems that make up the Alpha Platform, with a deep understanding in particular, of the front office, data warehouse and data management components. This role also requires a deep understanding of a breadth of financial instruments and the processing requirements from a front, middle and back office perspective. The successful candidate will have experience in software development, front office operations, consulting delivering business critical solutions to clients and hands-on setting up and enabling a broad set of financial instruments for end to end system integration. This is a critical forward facing role that will require working with a broad range of people and teams in the Alpha organization, leading a diverse team to document, design, develop and deploy solutions and communicating effectively with senior executives in the Alpha and client organizations.

What you will be responsible for
As the Lead Product Architect you will

• Work with business partners and workstream leads to identify and prioritize product solution candidates
• Direct and lead the capture and communication of business requirements
• Define, maintain and enforce guidelines and best practices for standard solution development on the continuously evolving platform
• Collaborate with the Lead Technical Architects and Workstream leads to orchestrate the transition of technology solutions through the evolution of the Alpha Platform ecosystem including new functionality and capabilities, new technology partners, new integration points and retirement of legacy technologies and solutions
• Learn new technologies in and around the Alpha Platform to lead the team in technology acquisition to understand emerging tools, partnerships and capabilities being developed in and around the Alpha Platform
• Support planning and direction for technology introductions, transitions and terminations to define best practices for new platform tools and map integration paths through key technology transitions
• Design transitions for existing clients to adopt technologies and migrate to new capabilities as the platform evolves
• Collaborate with the QA Lead to design test harnesses and automated release certification to ensure standard integrations are versioned to work across a broad range of CRD and STT release versions
• Collaborate with stream leads to define operations model for development and test environments
• Generate documentation to enable implementation, operations and support teams to efficiently and effectively deploy, manage and upgrade product solutions

The Lead Product Architect is expected to have extensive expertise across a full range of project, technical and client areas, including experience designing, building and deploying complex solutions in the context of both an individual client delivery model and a product/standard version solution model. Further, the Lead Product Architect must have experience leading diverse teams through complex multi-stage deliveries.

Education & Preferred Qualifications

• 4 year degree in a business or technical field such as Finance, Mathematical Finance, Economics, Engineering, or Computer Science. An advanced degree or industry certification such as the CFA is a strong plus
• 15+ years of experience in various stages of software and solution design and development
• Experience working with teams across business services, information systems and enterprise applications
• Extensive knowledge of multiple financial services technology systems with special attention to Front Office Trading and Investment Accounting. Experience with Charles River Development, State Street Technology Systems and/or Alpha are a significant plus
• Successful track record delivering software solutions in consulting, client specific and product contexts
• Demonstrated success articulating the value proposition of solution and design proposals and gaining executive level technical and business approval/adoption.
